Highly recommend these videos. They'll teach you just about everything you need to know about tuning up the car. At the moment it seems like you're guessing a lot.

As was mentioned above, you fried something in the wiring harness when you hooked up the battery wrong. Do you have a multimeter?

Ill def check them out, thanks alot. I am pretty new to carbs. But everyone gots to start somewhere...
