May 14, 201113 yr Author comment_355695 had to have the starter repaired. took it to a local auto electric shop that's been in business for 50 years. also the only one who would remove from car and reinstall. all other shops want u to just bring in the starter. took the car in at 2 pm and it was done next morning. the problem was the bendix ( whatever that is)R/R starter- spins out1 drive-$251 shop supplies- $2breakdown and test all components- $40remove and install- $29tax$10total $85very happy with the service. less than half the cost of a new starter and minimal down time.
