Help with 73 240z gas reservoir

Does anyone have a good photo or diagram of how the gas reservoir tank inside a 1973 240z ought to look installed? I just took delivery of a '73 this week and the reservoir is laying on the floor of the rear hatch. I don't want to put gas in the car until its reconnected - but I want to make sure I do it right. Please note that the nuts and bolts to secure it to the inner fender are gone - is it attached with the usual 10mm bolts?

Any help on this is very much appreciated!

I have a 1972 and Chilton's indicates the same setup, so assuming they are the same and I've got them hooked up correctly:

Using Pat Carr's photo going from left to right:

The left-most and smallest (partially hidden) connects about 1/3rd of the way up the evaporation canister and hooks up to the tank on the passenger side, maybe midway up. You have to get under the car to even see this one. The second (medium) goes to the driver's side, top of the tank. The third (large) goes to the passenger side, top of the tank. The last and largest loops back to the filler tube.

Can't guarantee the bolt size, but I just fit a M6 Pitch 1.0 lock washer on mine as a test. Seemed to fit tightly.

Pomorza, there are a number of posts relating to this. People HAVE reportedly removed the entire expansion tank apparatus without problems. If you search under "Gas Fumes" or similar you will find them. Some people mention having run the system like that for years without problems. However, there is something to be said for having a place for the fuel to expand to. I'm not really sure how this is accommodated when there is no expansion tank in place.

Thanks for that cut-away photo. There was a rubber grommet on the line that goes to the driver's side of the gas tank and I couldn't figure out where that was supposed to go. Based on the photo, I now think it belongs right where the hoses passes through one of the supports so that the metal doesn't cut into the hose.

In any event, I picked up a handful of M5 stainless screws and washers from Ace Hardware and I'm happy to report the tank is now back where it belongs. Again, thanks to everyone who responded. Glad you guys have my back!
