Yes. Runs behind the engine to feed coolant to the manifold plumbing.

Yes. It goes at back of engine running coolant from Carb to 3 way pipe at RH side of engine.

By the way, this one has an open-end at exhaust manifold side bracket so you do not need to remove the nut all the out. Better design.:bulb:

This is a really neat part, I actually saw one of these on '71 z at the junkyard today so it must have been a part on the early Z's. Are there any mechanical advantages to having this part? My heater core is currently bypassed, but the hose loops where the 3 way pipe is... Would I need to replace the 3 way pipe to bypass the heater core?

you do not need to remove the nut all the out. Better design.

Funny, I'm actually going to pass on putting in the bypass when the engine goes back in to my car. Super crazy part for hot climate cars (though I'm a big fan of getting more parts availalble).

I have it on without running coolant on one of my car just for the sake of original look in the engine bay.
