Posted May 7, 201113 yr comment_355078 Having an issue with the front suspension. I can't seem to get the darn brake/wheel assembly to let go of the front shocks. Tried soaking with pb blaster, tried heating the outer metal of the wheel housing, using a block of wood and going at it with a hammer, but doesn't want to release. I tried taking the entire assembly off and tried a few goofy ideas, but currently I put them back in the frame and they are soaking again some more. Both driver and passenger sides are holding on pretty tight.Anyone have any other ideas I can try? May 7, 201113 yr comment_355081 Did you take the cap off of the wheel bearing and take off the nut that is inside?, If you remove all of that it should slide off the suspension. May 8, 201113 yr comment_355084 can't seem to get the darn brake/wheel assembly to let go of the front shocks.Anyone have any other ideas I can try?Not really clear what you're doing. The "shocks" are actually inside the strut tubes. The spindle/wheel assembles are attached to the struts. The rotor is attached to the spindle via the nut that Coolv... refers to. The calipers are bolted on to the strut assembly. I might have my terminology off a little bit myself, but what is it you're trying to work on? Changing shocks, new bearings, etc...?Maybe you have the nut loose but the calipers are still bolted on? May 8, 201113 yr comment_355085 I'm not sure I understand what part you are trying to remove. Pictures might help. You are aware that the spindle is an integral part of the strut? May 8, 201113 yr Author comment_355176 After taking yesterday off, I decided to get back to the front suspension to take it apart. After taking it all apart, seems that my brother already installed some adjustable Tokico Illuminas, some time ago. Was a nice surprise for me, so going to have some tokico blues for anyone interested soon.Happy Mother's day also for any of you mothers out there!!
