I decided to have my 240z dipped instead of powder blasted, by a company in Eugene Oregon. Really happy with the results. If anyone is interested in the process, they posted before and after pics on their web site - www.metaldipping.com. Click on the projects tab.

Looks great. They posted a ton of pictures. I'm also considering dipping my c10. If you dont mind me asking ball park what did it cost you to have it done?

Now i just need to find a place in bay area or socal that dips. Thanks for posting the link.

Here's a pricing page I found:

Considering how many hours it actually takes to blast and DA sand an entire Z I would say that similar pricing to say a VW ($1500) is fair. Wish they had something like this by me 2 years ago when I stripped my car....

Its a great concept but make double sure that they have rinsed ALL the acid away because I'm not convinced it comes out of all the seams etc.

I had my 68 Charger dipped and e coated but the body shop had to unpick all the overlaps and obviously there are many they cannot get to.

I got caight out in the rain once and there are various orange streaks here and there.

Just want you to be prepared.

It was right at $1,500, chassie, hood, doors, hatch. Start to finish, one week. Their final process was a light coat of rust inhibitor - which is NOT compatible with POR 15. After reading quite a few posts here, some with the same concern as Viper, I pressure washed it for about an hour.

The best part was total removal of rust, saved tons of time.
