Wow the Franz Oil Filter!

I used this back in the 80's on my 77 Datsun pickup. I don't remember ever having a problem with it.

As I recall it was recommended to use their brand of paper as it was a lot more dense than normal t-paper. I did replace it with standard t-paper and it ran fine it didn't break down. When I did go to replace the roll, it was just a in tact oil-soaked roll of toilet paper.

Like I said...it ran fine. This was in the mid 80's.

Would I use it again? I doubt it. I wish I could offer solid evidence either way. It appears to be used extensively in the trucking industry with good results but I defer those who are better informed.

My dad used to use a kotex (or that "type" of product) in the old chevy. Never thought a thing about it at the time. I'll have to check the old Chrysler and see if it has a roll in it. (it doesn't get driven much). I know the old Volvo uses a cartridge but a roll "can be used in an emergency". One wouldn't think the oil could get through in a timely manner and it would just go through the bypass.
