Posted May 20, 201113 yr comment_356328 I have a 1980 280ZX with air conditioning. The water **** is leaking and needs to be replaced. Mine has a copper lead that goes into the heater unit somewhere under the heater core. The only one I've seen for sale is the water **** without the copper "sensor" thing. SO... does anyone know what will happen if I use the the water **** without the sensor to replace mine?? What will I loose by not having the sensor? This is what I have (see page 8)http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/zxclimatconversion/part1.pdfThis is what I can find to purchasehttp://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SHC03/16-7648Any help is appreciated. May 20, 201113 yr comment_356330 Looks like you need to find the AC compatable unit. I don't know about your application, but I THINK if you use thas one, the AC compressor will run ALL the time when the heat is on. The sensor disables the AC clutch, again I THINK. May 20, 201113 yr Author comment_356331 I'm not sure how it would affect the A/C compressor 'cuz the sensor only attaches to the water ****. But, maybe without the sensor it would open the water **** when the A/C is on. IDK I'll check with MSA when the wake up on the west coast. They used to sell both water cocks. Maybe someone there knows. Thanks for your input.
