Posted May 21, 201113 yr comment_356382 Any ideas? I get lots of news release that Raybestos is making them from epoxy or some lightweight material but no reference to our early brakes specifically. Don't make me have these manufactured!!! :disappoin Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39636-trying-to-source-new-brake-caliper-pistons-for-the-early-z/ Share on other sites
May 22, 201113 yr comment_356454 In the past new or rebuilt calipers have been an easy find. I believe I have a couple of sets not sure. jlp Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39636-trying-to-source-new-brake-caliper-pistons-for-the-early-z/#findComment-356454 Share on other sites
May 22, 201113 yr Author comment_356463 Just looking for pistons. Not the whole caliper. I realize rebuilt calipers are available, I want mine 'restored' to original. Big difference. But I do need pistons. May 22, 201113 yr comment_356470 You can still order the individua parts through nissan as my understanding. I just ordered some of the seals separately. Check out there sites:For part numbers:http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunFairladyZIndex/tabid/1543/Default.aspxFor ordering I go through NisssanParts.cchttp://www.nissanparts.cc/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39636-trying-to-source-new-brake-caliper-pistons-for-the-early-z/#findComment-356470 Share on other sites

But I do need pistons. On second thought if you want to keep the externals for some reason, "restored to original", my last post works. That being said I am not sure I fully understand the "restored to original" concept on the calipers. Unless you are the original owner and know differently it is as likely as not that your calipers are not the original ones. It has been common practice for years to in lieu of rebuilding exchanging for rebuilt calipers.
