Posted May 21, 201113 yr comment_356408 I have this little hook that is about shoulder height just behind the passenger door of my '73 240z. Any idea what purpose this served? Should I assume there was supposed to be one on the driver's side too? If so, if anyone has a spare one they'd like to get rid of, please let me know. Thanks! May 21, 201113 yr comment_356411 I think that's supposed to hold the shoulder belt. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39638-what-the-heck-is-this-thing/#findComment-356411 Share on other sites
May 21, 201113 yr comment_356412 I am no expert, but I use that hook to hang my seatbelt, since my '72 does not have fancy retractible seatbelts... May 21, 201113 yr comment_356420 As has been mentioned, it's for hanging the shoulder belt. There should be a "D" looking loop on the adjusting part that takes up the slack of belt (once adjusted) and that's what slips into the clip.FWIWE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39638-what-the-heck-is-this-thing/#findComment-356420 Share on other sites
May 21, 201113 yr Author comment_356433 That's kind of what I figured - since there are no retractors on the shoulder belt. I'm torn between using this hook and hanging the belt from the clothes hook above the window. I haven't seen this part on Black Dragon or any of the other parts sites. Does anyone sell them?
