front door seal pics?

I just received the right front door seal from MSA today (still waiting for the left one). I am unsure on the installation. Other than the three clips the end looks a little confusing where it meets the window seal and ss trim, do I use glue there? I am having a hard time finding pictures of this part properly installed. Anyone have pictures of this part installed from the factory or after restoration? :ermm:

here is the questionable area. nobody has a picture of this area factory original or otherwise? Glue or no? this part is not that pricey but it has taken 5 months for delivery and I don't want to screw it up.

I seem to recall that the originals I removed when I painted the car (can it have been 3 years already?) were glued. In any case, I used a touch of weatherstrip adhesive on mine.

But after three years, they have shrunk and pulled loose. Sometime soon I'll need to do something about those.

Grantf,

I'll risk being criticized, again, on my research information, but, from what I have learned, this little tab is supposed to be trimmed and glued to the little front face of that trim brightwork, and not tucked underneath. This is also confirmed in a book "How to Restore Your Datsun 240Z" written by Wick Humble. I am not at home so can't give you a page reference right now in case you had that book.

Maybe someone else can substantiate this.

Dan

I just looked at my original rubber door seals, they look identical to your pics. when the door is closed the flap seals to the jamb gasket, presumably to deflect water away from the window squeegie. Although it does look like mine has been trimmed.
