ZohanIsBack Posted June 4, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2011 1974 260z. Swapping to 5spd manual from the auto 2 spd. Can I just unplug tranny cooler lines and leave the radiator with nothing attached to the tranny cooler part? Or do I have to swap radiators, too? Thanks!Justin
Arne Posted June 4, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2011 Yup, just disconnect the lines and ignore them. Most replacement radiators have the transmission cooler these days, and they sell them as one-fits-all.

tlorber Posted June 5, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 5, 2011 I've heard that the tranny cooler can be used as an oil cooler. Anyone here plumbed that in?

Arne Posted June 5, 2011 Share #6 Posted June 5, 2011 I've heard that the tranny cooler can be used as an oil cooler. Anyone here plumbed that in?I'm sure it could be done, but the benefit (if any) would be tiny. There really isn't much "cooler" to the simple loop that runs through the bottom of the radiator.
