Fuel Injection Poblem!!

Ok I have a 78 280z i bought not running and fully rebuilt internally. Something was "mentioned" about fuel problems when i got it but the internals were in need of rebuilding anyhow (slightly bent intake valves).

I have got everything back up and going except that my injectors have NO POWER to them. I believe that charger wires were crossed on the batt also! So ive been checking for the injection relay-but there is much discrepancy between where it is located on the 78 Model.

I found the one by the battery under hood, but the cabin one i did not see by the ecu or passenger kick panel? Anyone know WHERE the darn thing is or ift here even IS another one? the one i found looked ok.

Or any suggestions on what else to do to solve the no power problem- maybe computer??

Thanks in advance sorry for the length- oh and proddate 02/78

SORRY for double post trying to delete!!

I will see if I can help you. To begin with, download the FSM for the 78 (Search this list or PM me). Download the Fuel Injection Bible (From the Downloads section). Look on the Battery and make sure that you have a large White wire going to the Fusible links and that it has continuity. Report back...

Hey thanks so much for the help! What i ended up figuring out is when i turned the ignition the test light flickered on for a split second- so i figured the ign switch. Soi jumped the coil straight from the battery, cranked it, and she fired up for the first time since the rebuild! Weird part- the jump wire fell off and it kept running and now it cranks up every time? Maybe just needed some current passed through it.

It is now running, idling quite high ( im thinking sticky throttle becuase it slows down when i return it manually) BUT i do have one fuel problem now. It will run and idle for 15-30 minutes and then all of the sudden start spewing white smoke and start running rich (smell fuel). Any idea on any adjustments ( besides Valves) i need to do since its a fresh build? or maybe a sensor that would be causing this?? Thanks!
