June 17, 201113 yr comment_359029 Interesting. Expensive, but interesting. Looks like the welding part would require "tig" type skills. August 4, 201113 yr comment_363203 Thank you for the interest!cozye/It's all new type of welding. It may look somehow similar to oxy-acetylene gas welding. The process of welding/cutting is extremely easy.Bruce Palmer//We carry all the parts and have a service center in CA. Product comes with 2 year full warranty. ______________________Kirill AlievEcoWelder Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39928-cool-russian-plasma-weldercutter-water-and-alcohol-based/#findComment-363203 Share on other sites
August 4, 201113 yr comment_363214 I wonder how the properties of the metal after welding compares. Welding gasses are to help protect the metal while cooling from hydrogen, and oxygen. The price seams about right if this compares well to a TIG it would be a deal. August 4, 201113 yr comment_363252 //ajmcforesterWe have not a single bad review after entering US market in February 2011. Moreover - it is sold worldwide since 1997.Instead of common shielding gases, our product utilizes Alcohol in its plasma shape. (only 2 oz of alcohol, injected directly in the Torch - enough for 20 minutes of work)For cutting, only water is utilized, with no need in compressor! August 5, 201113 yr comment_363309 Alcohol and water can chemically react to the metal, argon can not. So this might not give as quality of a weld as a TIG or a well setup MIG. However it looks like it would be better than a gas based torch at welding. I think the question is how well the shielding works compared to fux-wirer, in a MIG, ARC or against different mixes of oxygen and argon on a MIG. As for being able to cut and weld with one torch is something I could have used when logging to make repairs on the fly, especially with the power use of this welder. The only problem is the thickness of metal I worked with 1-2" thick the welder only does 3/8" I could see owning one depending on the purity of the weld and having a project the requires a lot of cutting and welding. I think it's a nice product Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/39928-cool-russian-plasma-weldercutter-water-and-alcohol-based/#findComment-363309 Share on other sites
