April 4, 200915 yr comment_279723 Pardon my ignorance but what is an "Overfender"?I made the Aluminum grill and the side bumpers were what was left after someone hit me. I always liked the old 70-1/2' Camaro Nerf bumpers and made a set of my own. April 5, 200915 yr comment_279845 overfender, i think thats what they are called, they are the vertical bits on your bumper. my Zed has a "straight" bumper, but yours just at the cut sections has 2 small vertical bits. i think ive heard those things called overfenders on a classic volkswagen site i was on before.i think they were put on american Zeds because of some federal car regulations, which then later turned into those big arsed plastic bumpers in time Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3993-how-do-you-like-the-front-of-your-z/?&page=7#findComment-279845 Share on other sites
April 5, 200915 yr comment_279846 Late entry, but I prefer the look of the BRE spook w/ ducts best. Functional and pretty. Even more functional without the air ducts. Most air dams are too "ricer" looking to my tastes, but the less dramatic looking ones are OK.Just my 2 cents... April 5, 200915 yr comment_279847 ozy, bumper guards, should be the right word, if spelled correct, then there is the over ride, but that's a whole other thing. Fender /Wing Hood /Bonnet and the list go on i guess i'm not the only one having problems some time. I'd love to lose them and cap off the bumper ends and have them rechromed, but that's a whole different story. On the rear, I'd love to have one of those full chrome bumpers with no holes or rubber. I LOVE CHROME!!!! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3993-how-do-you-like-the-front-of-your-z/?&page=7#findComment-279863 Share on other sites

April 6, 200915 yr comment_279888 Plus one on the spook. Other than that, I like them stock. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3993-how-do-you-like-the-front-of-your-z/?&page=7#findComment-279888 Share on other sites
April 6, 200915 yr comment_279890 Add me to the "Spook Lover" list - clean, simple, functional. Mine served me well for over 35 years. Now, I'm working on adding chrome rimmed headlight covers to replace the non-sealed rimless ones that were installed for decades - another front look I like and have wanted since '71. Some changes just seem to take a little longer than others.Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3993-how-do-you-like-the-front-of-your-z/?&page=7#findComment-279890 Share on other sites
April 6, 200915 yr comment_279897 I like the way mine is looking so far! The air dam will be the color of the car. Then my bumper will be black with the silver grill and driving lights in place of the stock turn signals. I cant wait till I get my car back from the shop so I can finish it! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3993-how-do-you-like-the-front-of-your-z/?&page=7#findComment-279897 Share on other sites
April 6, 200915 yr comment_279905 Gav,I've got to go with the generic spoiler choice. But I don't much care for the whole wrap around airdam. I love the BRE "Spook", though. I also like the small spoiler in the rear, with a set of panasports and the car covered in beautiful orange paint! Like this one...Louvers aren't bad either.NateMine will look almost exactly like yours, sans rear spoiler, in about one week, when the wheels and tires go on. Your car is IT for me-adamr Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/3993-how-do-you-like-the-front-of-your-z/?&page=7#findComment-279905 Share on other sites
April 6, 200915 yr comment_279907 I had a BRE/Interpart Spook installed when the car was new in 1972 and really like that traditional look. However, with a lowered car, the Spook was prone to getting dinged up on parking stops, deep driveway dips, etc. Plus, I would sometimes have a problem pulling over garage lifts and also had a hard time using a floor jack on the front of the car. For about 14 years I kept fixing the cracks in the lower lip and repainting until finally the 'ole Spook was looking a bit worse for wear and I pulled it off. I ran just the stock nose for about 20 years but never really liked the plain look. I wanted to put something back on and considered a Spook or an airdam. I finally compromised with the MSA "AeroLip." It probably only does a little for the aero but at least the front end doesn't look as plain as just the stock lower valance. I can get a floor jack under the front of the car which is handy ...
