My first ever drive in my Z

Recommended Posts

I've just screwed the plates on, stuck the rego sticker on and I'm about to venture out. So I guess I don't have a story as yet but this is an exciting moment in itself so I thought I'd share.

I did drive the car unregistered around the block yesterday. Temptation got the better of me. Anyhoo, turning into my street I saw this very good looking girl so I had to let her pass even though I was holding up traffic. She didn't take her eyes off of the car (couldn't be me cause I'm below par as they say). As I turned the corner I had to look back and lo and behold she'd stopped and was further checking out the car. At this point my head hit the passenger side window. :classic:

Well, my first official drive wasn't all that fantastic. You see my alarm won't stop going off and even though I've disconnected the alarm horn the blinkers go off every so often. It's not fun driving around with your hazards on.

Oh well. Off to the electrician tomorrow morning.

That happened to me in my 280zx the alarm wouldn''t go off.

I was in a hurry to get the car home.

Pretty embarrassing when the alarm won't go off.

Well there just happened to be this little old lady driving so sllloooow in her crown vic(they are always in front of me when i am in a hurry) and i guess i was tailgating.

I guess she thought i was a cop cause she pulled over to the side of the road.

I felt bad but at least i was able to speed past her.

Alot of girls I know like to ride in my Z. When I recently bought my 280z everyone wanted a ride homeor to thier boyfriends house(shucks). It is clear thought that it is the car they like and not me.(I think.)I am also under par, and i've grown up with these people so i guess it doesn't count. Around where I live it is very rare to see a Z. I've only seen 3 real 240s in front of my face. one at a nissan dealership, the other two are in my drive way. I only Know of two other guys with really nice running and looking early Zs.

My other Z freinds have 280zxs or Z31s,

whoa I type too much.

sorry for boring you.

:cross-eye

All I get are (under par) older ladies who tell me they had one when they were younger. No guys yet. I pull up next to Mustangs Carmaros(that 'other' Z-car) and some corvettes, but I don't do the race thing. I'm too busy looking cool.

It's really cool how you are at a light and you can (pretend) you got a clutch by putting the auto trans in gear and hitting the gas at just the right moment, then going through the turn/intersection in first gear...:D

I try to keep it under 3500 RPM tho.

I figured that, shooting Revs and stuff. I remember in High School I was in Dads truck, in front of the school and at about 25 mph threw it in neutral to give a rev., only I went past N and into Reverse and then punched it!

After slamming up against the steering wheel and smokin the tires in reverse, I got it back to D and said WTF! was that all about! and just keep going on my way like I knew what I was doing!ROFL

My first ride was when I bought my first Z, a lowered 72 with dual webers. No test drive (go figure?) but the guy said it wasn't running too good. I could hardly keep it running, so on the freeway I pulled over and looked at the carbs, and he had the fuel of one carb completely shut off, so after a guestimation of opening back up, jumped back in and just blew home with the biggest cheese eating grin on my face, and I was then Z bug bitten!
