79 280ZX original owner

Recommended Posts

I have lurked around on this site for a number of years and now that I'm getting back to my 72 240Z project, I'm amazed at the wealth of information, tips and knowledge that I'm finding here.

As my post title says, I am an original owner of a 1979 280ZX. I purchased it new Nov. 11, 1978 and the cost was $11,111. The build date was 7/78. It served as my daily driver for 6 years and since then has led an easy life of Z Club events, Z drives and track days.

My 72 240Z project is a car I have owned for 11 years and have never driven it. I put it away in storage, to await the day when I would have the time to do the restoration. I'm the 3rd owner and it has 100K miles on it. It's a very complete and original car with only a header and wheels being added by the PO's. Originally a code 918 orange, it was reprayed along the way to a dark blue. My plans are to leave it very original. Not sure about taking it back to the original orange though. New suspension is ready to go back in - Tokicos, Eibach springs, urathane bushings, and many new parts have been added.
