Disney's Cars 2...

I went to see Cars 2 last night with the wife and kids. I was impressed with the number of Z cars shown in the animated scenes of Tokyo. I saw at least four S30 cars and there was a large gong shaped like a second-generation 240z hubcap. I'm sure that went over the head of everyone else. They also had a nice homage to Paul Newman (who played the voice of Doc Hudson in the first Cars movie) by showing a Doc Hudson museum and a moment where characters fondly remembered him. Not an an academy award winner, but a fun movie for kids and car-lovers alike.

Nice. Someone giving attention to the Z cars at Disney...I'll check it out. My son will love it.

I just came back from the movie and I thought I would make sure that someone had made a post about it. I didn't even notice that one in the crowd that you have pictured. I did however spot four others spaced throughout the Tokyo scenes. I was amazed that they gave the Z that much attention. It was really cool. (It was also hard not to yell out "240z!" every time I saw one!)

I highly enjoyed the movie. Although there was a little too much Mater for my taste.

Ya I get the look when I do that on the street with Z cars. However I point out rare and unique Japanese cars also with the same response. I think the two worse times that people tried to pretend they didn't know me was when I came across a nice Mazda 323 GTX, and the almost not their from rust an early Toyota Celica GT.

The Japanese team's pitboss was an S30 with a huge rising sun on the side of it, drove my kids nuts pointing out the Zs.

I also saw these it was great, there must have been a real 240z nut on the animation team.

I was like a little kid getting all excited every time I saw the Z in the background.

This is the station depicted in the first Cars movie. It was built in the 1930's and is located on Route 66 in Shamrock Texas. I just happened upon it as I was driving across the country in the Z.
