June 29, 201113 yr comment_360175 Robftw. Sorry to hijack your thread, but the other is closed. Just a little geography for Sarah and others who may not know. Now I hope yall don't take offence at this. New Zealand is NOT in Australia. We are about 4 hours flying time to the right, In the Pacific Ocean. If we carry on east we come to South America. Australia is to the west. We have a poulation of over 4 mil. Auckland the largest city has a population over 1 mil. Auckland is situated on a narrow part and you can reach the ocean on either side in a few minutes. We have summers to die for and winters with the odd frost or two, but we can use our zeds year around. At the moment it is mid winter here. Today we have just had a light frost and it is shaping up to be a glorious day so we will take out the zed and go for a cruise. Once again Robftw sorry to hijakck and thanks. Brian. This is the most random hijack post i have ever seen Also, i'm going to adjust the valves tomorrow when i get the feeler gauges from my father if its something serious like piston rings.. well it won't matter much to me because i'll just take the car off the road. I have a few LD28 cranks coming from the dominican republic, so i will be stroking this car out to 3.0... maybe 3.1 if funds allow. If anyone is seriously interested in an LD28 crank, PM me i will part with one, maybe two of them however they have not arrived yet.. boat shipping takes a long time Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40055-exhaust-gasses-coming-out-of-valve-cover/?&page=2#findComment-360203 Share on other sites
June 30, 201113 yr comment_360222 Brian, SORRY ABOUT THAT! I just mentally grouped you as "down under" and didn't re-check before posting. I do realize NZ is a different land -- with a government that I very much admire, BTW. I believe Lord of the Rings was filmed there. VERY pretty place. I hope to visit someday, but it's a VERY long and expensive journey. Robftw, there's no reason to speculate on ring wear. Just do dry and wet compression tests. You'll have your answer very quickly. I don't think valve adjustment issues could result in oil in your intake. June 30, 201113 yr Author comment_360247 I just took the PCV valve off and cleaned it, i had a milky chocolate colored substance coming out of the crank case hose.. i also found an extremely small coolant leak by cylinder #6I've drove it almost 500 miles so far, so it doesn't look severe. Looks like teardown is going to happen sooner than i expected Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40055-exhaust-gasses-coming-out-of-valve-cover/?&page=2#findComment-360247 Share on other sites
June 30, 201113 yr comment_360252 Rob. Unless you are using excessive oil I would not be too alarmed. Sarah.
