Posted June 30, 201113 yr comment_360249 Finally!! Tomorrow night I'm going to have my original series 1 seatbelts re-sewn/re-assembled with the CORRECT clips/hardware. The question I have now is: Does anyone have photos or info of the hardware required and the position where the shoulder strap gets anchored to the interior? Additionally, photos of the finished installation of the coat hooks would also be appreciated. These seatbelts have been out of the car soooo long that I can't remember where to anchor the shoulder straps and coathooks. I hope I still have the correct mounting hardware.....any info on the proper bolt/attachment hardware would also be appreciated. Thanks again to all of you who have helped me through this maze thus far.:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40066-need-help-with-series-1-seatbelt-installation/ Share on other sites

June 30, 201113 yr Author comment_360264 Blue, once again you come through! You're a veritable repository of Z related photos, illustrations, tech drawings, and general info. Am thinking your man cave must resemble more of a library than a traditional place where boys store their toys:)Thanks again for your help. With this illustration, I could be mere hours away from being legal!Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40066-need-help-with-series-1-seatbelt-installation/#findComment-360264 Share on other sites
June 30, 201113 yr comment_360266 I was just under a 71 240z and noted the transmission tunnel holes for the bolts were M10 X 1.25mm pitch. The bolts poke into the tunnel so you should treat the ends and use antiseize as they will see the elements btw I got the pic off this great site: http://carfiche.com/fiche009/s30/index.pl?6:i:6 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40066-need-help-with-series-1-seatbelt-installation/#findComment-360266 Share on other sites
June 30, 201113 yr Author comment_360273 Do you think that the bolts that secure the belts to the transmission tunnel would be same size and length as the ones that secure the shoulder strap to the interior? July 1, 201113 yr comment_360288 The transmission bolts look same as door bolts in the drawing. The rear hatch area bolts look longest in the drawing but it may not be to scale.WAIT: Just found this: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?22987-Seat-Belt-Bolts Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40066-need-help-with-series-1-seatbelt-installation/#findComment-360288 Share on other sites
July 25, 201113 yr comment_362454 Just did this and had all the original bolts in the original locations. Long bolts in the B pillar the shorter ones in the tunnel and base of the door. HTH, Richard.
