Rumors are circulating that Nissan will be bringing back the Datsun brand. Unfortunately, it would be for low-cost models in emerging markets that are expected to ring in at $5000 or less.

Doesn't that sound kind of like when they brought them to the U.S. in 1958-9 or whatever? "$5000 or less" got you a lot more then than it will today. With the regulations we have here, they'd never be able to build and sell the car(s) for that price in the U.S. today anyway. Other countries; maybe. This rumor has surfaced a few times over the years but I don't see it happening with the market being what it is today.
