Posted July 16, 201113 yr comment_361681 I have two blue wire coming out of the dash harness, both with in-line fuses. Both test cold with ignition off or ignition on. (Yes, the fuses are good and I tested behind the fuse too.) What are these wires for??? July 16, 201113 yr comment_361683 Where in the dash harness are they?Edit: Nevermind. Put in the fuse for accessories (marked Common on your MSA fuse box), and you will probably have voltage. July 16, 201113 yr comment_361687 I'm trying to recall, it's been a while, but I THINK they are associated with the door and seatbelt buzzer. Does the car buzz with key in & door open and/ or seat belt off and car in gear? Does the car buzz with key in & door open and/ or seat belt off and car in gear?I am nearly certain that the seat belt buzzer requirement in the U.S. didn't start until the 1972 model year. My '71 doesn't have any wiring for that "accessory". July 17, 201113 yr comment_361710 FYI, here is another post from the OP. Considering he didn't have the accessory fuse in, I would say the dead wires are most likely energized through the accessory fuse. July 17, 201113 yr comment_361725 Those look like the Heater Blower motor power wire and the Cigarette lighter wire. Just a guess.Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40220-blue-wires-with-in-line-fuses/#findComment-361725 Share on other sites

July 17, 201113 yr comment_361756 You will however find the red and black ignition wires and a small buzzer up in the dash with door pin wiring also going to it. Or at least you should.Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40220-blue-wires-with-in-line-fuses/#findComment-361756 Share on other sites

I do not see the buzzer, the transmission switch (which buzzes when in gear if the lap belt is not worn) or the seatbelt switch. All of which are blue or green on my 73. July 17, 201113 yr comment_361764 And after that, they ran the same wiring into the 260Z's "Interlock" system. A system truly worthy of my Garbage can.....If you put a gallon of milk in the passenger side seat, you had to buckle the seat belt to start the car.Gotta love pressure switches.Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40220-blue-wires-with-in-line-fuses/#findComment-361764 Share on other sites
July 17, 201113 yr Author comment_361778 I put the accessory fuse in and I found the blue and white whire going from the fuse block subharnes which goes to the blue and white wire powering the cigarette lighter. The lighter works. However, still no clue about the two heavy blue wires with the in-line fuses.
