I've looked at the diagrams showing what each part is for the Z's but I cannot find what this little pipe is. As you can see in the picture it pretty rusted, and what you can't see is on the other side it's actually crushed in.. Anyhow this definitely needs replacing!

Edit: this is the thermostat housing if it isn't obvious sorry.

Well this is for a FI L28 from a 77, and it should be on this page http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsunS30/DatsunFairladyZIndex/Engine280Z/CylinderHead/tabid/1600/Default.aspx

I really do not see it on there..

Blue do you know where I could get a new one of these?

This looks very basic.

Unscrew the whole fitting and get someone to braze a new piece of pipe on. Or do it yourself if you can.

Or go to a hardware/ plumbing store and buy a 90 degree brass bend and some reducers to get down to the right size.

You can try to get one w/o the 90 degree and run the hose along a different path.

Since you are in Arizona, you do not need an AAR or the heater below it or the cold start valve so you can unclutter the top of your intake manifold.

+1 to what Blue said.

Just plug it off and remove the other stuff for a much cleaner look on the intake. Plus far fewer places for a water leak & rotten hosery. :) Now, if you lived in Fargo.....

That sounds fantastic to me, the less the clutter the better! However what is an AAR?

I'll probably get a replacement for it, and then get the same thing but with a sealed end so it has a nice clean seal.
