Got my first 240z

Recommended Posts

I have always wanted a 240z. But I am not new to the Z family. See link below:

I rebuild the Shiro the best I could considering I was a poor college student and I bought a very rare car full of the previous owners mistakes. I just finished getting a 1987 300zx na on the road and my boss bought it from me because I stumbled across this:

I am the thrid owner of this car. It has 83k original miles on the od. I got an extra l24 engine, differental, SU carb set, both intake and exhast manifolds just to name a few. The car has been parked in northern Louisana for the past five years with a presumed bad fuel pump. I am hoping to restore the car.

Now I have to figure out if I am going to restore it to original, put a v8 conversion, swap for a l28/l28 turbo, or maybe an RB swap. Hard to justisfy not using one of the two l24's I have for it, but a LS series v-8 sounds good too.

Suggestions?

Awesome Z! As original as it looks I would definitely stick with the engine in it, but that's just my purist opinion. Noticed you were from Conroe, I'm a bit north from you, hopefully I will be able to see this Z on the road one day.

Congrats!! I'm retstoring my Z as well, it has an l24 as well, I have a 1970 240z. Good luck with your build. I suggest keeping it original, at least for awhile, easier to maintain too since there's no computers involved with it. Besides you can always upgrade later, just keep the original stuff and reinstall it when or if you sell it.
