Posted August 29, 201113 yr comment_365031 Hi,I bought some ZTherapy carbs and they're on their way. I opted to not get the adapters and use my old air cleaner housing - I want to get the one that matches the carbs. I looked on ebay - nothing today. I found one in datsun classified and emailed the lister, but it was listed in February, so I doubt he still has it.Anyone out there got a spare I can buy? Thanks! August 29, 201113 yr Author comment_365039 One question - how do I know it will fit my new carbs? Does ANY pre-73 fit the round-top carbs? August 29, 201113 yr comment_365040 Yes, the early ones work fine. biggest problem rounding up an early aircleaner is to find one with all the attacking hardware included.....The flat tops had a square mouth hence the need for the adapter plates + that air cleaner also looks like it has a growth of some kind on it. August 29, 201113 yr Author comment_365041 Yeah, I like the simple look of the earlier housings...Bruce, what attaching hardware should I be looking for? August 29, 201113 yr comment_365046 To attach the early air cleaner you need 2 bolts that screw into the carburetor. These bolts receive the wingnut bolt that attached the air cleaner cover to the body of the air cleaner. The part number for the receiving bolt is: 16517-25600 (2 required). The part number for the Cover bolt is : 16516-E3210 (2 required)Dave Ruiz Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40627-want-to-buy-air-cleaner-housing-for-new-round-top-carbs/#findComment-365046 Share on other sites

August 29, 201113 yr comment_365070 Here's the wing nut off my 72 240z I believe the two on there are the same. What was the other bolt you needed? August 30, 201113 yr comment_365071 Here are the special bolts that the wing bolts screw into. The other 2 bolts that hold on the the air box are common 10mm bolts. August 30, 201113 yr Author comment_365074 My current air cleaner ('73 version) has "special" bolts like the ones in Marty's picture. Would my existing bolts work with the older air cleaner? August 30, 201113 yr comment_365080 Yes. The "special Bolts" did not change over the years. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40627-want-to-buy-air-cleaner-housing-for-new-round-top-carbs/#findComment-365080 Share on other sites
