I'm building up my stroker engine this winter, i almost have all of the parts gathered up.

The flywheel will be lightened, crank will be lightened & balance, but the thing im not sure about is getting the rods lightened up, could this lead to catastrophic failure? or are they beefy enough that i can take a few grams off them and not have to worry about it?

oh, and the pistons i have will be lightened up a bit too

You can do it but it's knowing how and where to do it which is the important bit. ;)

Can I suggest you get the book "How to modify your Nissan/Datsun OHC engine" by Honsowetz if you haven't already got it. A good read and will answer all your questions in regards to rods, cranks pistons etc.

Or you can search this forum and/or Hybridz. This topic has been covered many times.

Good luck with your project.
