And that would make me a "SoCal idiot". When changing the rear springs on my yellow Z several weeks ago, forgot to use the spring compressor and once the bolt was loosened the spring launched the top mount onto my freshly painted Silver Z. No dent, but 3 deep scratches. Only consolation was that my face was not in front of the top mount.

I'm beginning to feel slightly better, knowing I'm in good company...

Dent guy couldn't meet today, will try for tomorrow. I'll post a pic of the damaged area before & after the dent-less process.

Don't feel bad - years ago I pulled out of the gas station with the fuel hose still in the car - What the hell was I thinking!!.....evidently not what I was doin'!

I had hundreds of dents on my wifes jetta from a hail storm and the PDR guy made the car look like new...well that is until my wife put a huge scratch in the side with a wheelbarrel

I definitely recommend the Paintless Dent Removal technique. During our Christmas Party at Jimbo's Z Mecca in Lutz, FL, the Suncoast Z Club invited a guy to work on cars that folks drove in. I'd never seen it done before, but this guy did around 6/7 cars, a couple of which had big dents with some paint cracking. The best one was a custom painted 280Z with an 8-inch dent along the SS line of the door. When he was finished, the dent was gone...then he fired up a torch and carefully ran it the flame along the dent, and the paint cracks disappeared. It was really interesting. Good Luck Julio.
