Posted September 19, 201113 yr comment_366874 HiCan both front and rear 240z bumpers be installed on a 260z. If so what is the process, are any customs brackets needed.Thankszdude67 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40835-240z-bumpers-on-a-260z/ Share on other sites
September 19, 201113 yr comment_366882 I did this conversion on a 280. It can be done, but you will likely have to make your own brackets. No big deal if you can weld. Took me about a day to fit them and make the brackets. September 19, 201113 yr comment_366889 I think the 240 stuff bolts up to the 260 up front. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40835-240z-bumpers-on-a-260z/#findComment-366889 Share on other sites
September 19, 201113 yr comment_366916 I think the 240 stuff bolts up to the 260 up front. They do not. I got mine from a guy selling them on ebay, here and here. I haven't mounted the bumpers yet though, so I can't comment on fitment yet, but you will have to drill holes for at least the front. September 19, 201113 yr comment_366928 You must have a late 260Z if they don't fit. Not problem. There's a guy that was selling prefabbed conversion brackets on Ebay a while back and that's where I bought a set for my 280Z. I have not actually bolted the bumpers on but a trial fit by hand showed that they will work fine. I don't remember the cost for the set but it was cheaper than me spending my time to make something. September 19, 201113 yr comment_366929 I have an early 260Z. I have also linked to the ebay conversion brackets in my previous post. Body-hugging 240Z bumpers DO NOT fit the 260Z without modification, no matter if it is an early or late 260Z. The brackets will work just fine, except (at least in the 260Z's case) the fronts will likely need holes drilled to fit correctly.
