1972 Off White Interor plastic/vinyl dye?

I am getting the last of my parts together for re-assembly of my 72 Z. It is 110 red with off white interior. I have NOS off white interior plastic but they have yellowed over the years. I know that paint companies make interior vinyl dyes such as Duponts “marhyde”. Can anyone suggest a product that would work on the plastic parts as well as the vinyl sun visors? Does anyone have the correct mix formula for the 1972 off white interior color?

Thanks Jerry Purcell

My 73 off white plastic was yellowed & the tail finisher demolished. I used 'SEM 15103 Super White', don't let the name fool you. It worked great, like Manny said.

I had to get a new tail finisher from MSA, ordered in the off white, it was made of black plastic, thicker than original, needed trimmed in places, leaving black. The off white they used was the same SEM color, so no problem matching.

The off white rivets & pins were an odd color compared to the SEM, again no problem spraying them. Used a paper punch in cardboard to hold the rivets, pushed the pins in 1/2 way to spray the tops.

I did not use it on any other interior vinyl, yet. Get a can and try it out, only about $12.50 then. Try it. You'll like it. :)

I had my local body shop supply company mix and match for me but I am affraid to use it. I has a green tint to it. I put a drop on my sunvisor where the retaining screw was covering the vinyl and it matches but it does not look white to me but has a green cast.

I did not paint mine I used some tricks and nearly got all the yellow out without paint or dyes. First Start with some mild vinegar mix and hot water, scrub several times till you don't see improvement. Then Mother's Back to Black it is a cleaner/oxidation remover it won't make the parts gray, several times till you don't see improvement. Then use a heat gun to lightly soften but not distort the panel in a swirling pattern this will bring up fresh material. On the plastic do the same steps except with the heat gun only do areas you can't clean-up with plastic polish. Us the plastic politic and the white plastic it will help it look cleaner. When I got the car this the white int. I thought it had the butterscotch interior.

Another option is to have Just Dashes do it they also do vinyl reconditioning.

I bought an entire off white plastic panels and diamond materials from Les. He found out I was not happy with the color, he offered to color match it to my headliner and overhead vinyl. He said he wanted me to be happy. I still have not done it....the parts are not installed so it will be easy to do. I think I might buy a set of his door panel vinyls as well.
