October 3, 201113 yr comment_368064 You're missing the second half of that picture illustration, it's one I posted years ago. I'm also attaching a different pic that will help. October 3, 201113 yr comment_368075 Enrique, where is the right door lead? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40957-passenger-door-switch-lead-connects-to/#findComment-368075 Share on other sites
October 3, 201113 yr Author comment_368077 exactly duffman.... "Answer the question" is one of the golden rules. I actually have both pages but they are missing key data. (as well where is #3 and #26?) I have many more questions but I thought I would start with an easy one If anyone knows how the right door switch attaches to a harness it would be most welcome. With respect to the above drawing, does 34 (blue) connect to 55 (red) so that power gets routed to the blower? October 4, 201113 yr comment_368090 #3 is for the Seat Belt Interlock Warning System which didn't appear until late 72 (?73?), and not to be confused with the Key In Warning Buzzer.RH door lead is #26, and can just barely be made out above the second picture I posted above the words "To Fuse Block".All of those wires are Black as the switches just finish the circuit to ground. The door switch leads are on the extremes of the harness, and not too far from them you'll also find the leads for the extra "Step Light" which the US market never got. That's a Red/Blue and a Black wrapped in blue tape.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40957-passenger-door-switch-lead-connects-to/#findComment-368090 Share on other sites
October 4, 201113 yr Author comment_368094 Thanks Enrique. Do you have any further detail on the lead from the harness? I only have one black wire in that area and I think it is #32 (Alternator E Lead) due to its larger gauge. Here is a photo I took. (btw I can easily find he left side wires and step light wires (tied back)). October 4, 201113 yr comment_368095 Blue; I just checked my car and it looks like it it plugs into a connector on the harness to the back of the car, not the dash or engine harness. It is a connector with two wires a black and a red with blue stripe. October 4, 201113 yr Author comment_368097 Is the green wire below the elusive #26 lead for the right door switch? I noticed that the leads to the Flasher #27 and #28 are different. Specifically#28 is supposed to be black with white stripe but I have a blue with white stripe. Seems like a B vs. L typo maybe? It is easy to find the leads to the door switch and step lights: Edited October 4, 201113 yr by Blue Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/40957-passenger-door-switch-lead-connects-to/#findComment-368099 Share on other sites

I guess since it grounds the dome light in that same body harness, it now seems sensible. October 4, 201113 yr comment_368108 No problem, here is a photo, it looks like the step light wires are on the body harness as well. October 4, 201113 yr comment_368112 If you wire it like I did, the key buzzer screams at me when I open the doors with the key in the ignition AND when I turn on the dome lamp. Ughh. I think the drivers side switch is a two-wire switch and I used a one-wire switch instead.
