ez1974 Posted October 5, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2011 Hi my name is Jake. I live in north Alabama.I have a 240z im working on. The car is complete down to theAM radio. I bought the car from a local man who is a Datsun collector. It is in great shape, having been stored insideFor the majority of its existence. This Z was bought new in SavannahTn by a young man who went to Vietnam shortly after its purchase. That young man never returned home...The car remained in the fathers basement until 1990 when it wasPut up for sale. Purchased by a local man and driven lightly for a year. That man sold it to another who parked it in a garage and never drove it.That man sold it to the local Datsun collector, and it sat in his yard and did not move for 5 years. Now it is mine, with paint faded and only 12,745 miles on the odometer...keeping it as original as possible.

ez1974 Posted June 6, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted June 6, 2012 This car is now running. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on this car. To get it running I pulled and cleaned the carbs, put new coil and plugs and wires and points. Fired right up! Ill have it back on the road soon. ez1974 Posted June 7, 2012 Author Share #8 Posted June 7, 2012 Indeed it is I am very proud to own it. Im starting to realize.that the challenge of keeping a car original is more difficult than modifying one. The brake master cal is unique to 70-71, and expensive. Luckily my daily driver is a 71 series 2, but the master is correct for a series 1, and im doing a brake upgrade on the series 2, so all those parts will be recycled onto the series 1.
