Posted October 9, 201113 yr comment_368730 So I am getting ready to put my gas tank back on and pulled it from storage. I have been looking at information on this site about which hoses go where and realized that I am missing several hoses from the tank. My Z is an early model and didn't have the hose at the small end and didn't have the evaporation tank. There is the hose fitting on the far side and was expecting to see the hose fitting on the near side but there isn't one. Is this something common in the early cars? I had the tank sealed a few years ago but don't remember exactly what it looked like then. It has been sitting in a spare bedroom waiting until this day when the car is finally being rebuilt. carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41025-missing-hose/ Share on other sites
October 9, 201113 yr comment_368732 I believe that is normal for the very early ('69 build) cars. You might PM Mike B or 26thZ to confirm. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41025-missing-hose/#findComment-368732 Share on other sites

October 10, 201113 yr comment_368742 S/N HLS30-02614 has these two lines next to the fuel level indicator hole. One is for fuel filter/pump, other is return. Otherwise my tank looks same as yours. October 10, 201113 yr comment_368766 Carl,Your fuel tank is correct for a car without the evap tank. They don't have the two upper hose connections on the front and back of the tank or the connection on the far left side. Here are some links to comparisons of the tanks from my 11/69 and 5/72 cars when I was refinishing them.http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?34476-Should-I-seal-my-gas-tanks&p=293178&viewfull=1#post293178http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?34476-Should-I-seal-my-gas-tanks&p=293180&viewfull=1#post293180-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41025-missing-hose/#findComment-368766 Share on other sites
