Posted January 4, 200322 yr comment_22120 Has anyone ever replaced there stock muffler with this item from Motorsport Auto? It says that it replace the muffler, but the note says that it is not to be used with non catalytic convert or removed pre-muffler cars. I currently have an older Monza dual tip exhaust system mated to the stock manifold. It sounds like the old british sports cars. I am installing a header in the morning and I wanted to buy one of these to replace the old monza exhaust system. Any experience with these items. WIll I see any issues running the header and turbo tip? Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4110-motorsport-auto-chrome-tip/ Share on other sites
January 4, 200322 yr comment_22123 Never used one but..... I don't think you will want to use it without the resonator or "pre-muffler" as it is called. The tip is nothing more than a tiny glass pack and with a header and only this it will be loud to the point you won't be able to stand it. I think it will be moreor less a straight exhaust, that's why they say you shouldn't use it without the pre-muffler or catalytic converter. If you are going to replace the complete exhaust, a better alternative would be a good quality "turbo" muffler. I used the "twice pipes" on my first Z and after the glass packs burned out, I couldn't stand the noise. :cross-eye Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4110-motorsport-auto-chrome-tip/#findComment-22123 Share on other sites
