October 19, 201113 yr comment_369634 Bruce is right about the rubber bits. For the 510, OEM rubber/weatherstripping seems to be worth its weight in gold. October 19, 201113 yr comment_369638 You guys are hilarious, love your cars, and I have to admit, five&dime, your 510 is my dream car, it's literally what made me go crazy for 510's. I so badly want to get a 510 and make it my DD, but sadly being in college and having no time or money as it is means getting the next best thing, an E30.Hope that dime works out for you CW, keep us informed! October 19, 201113 yr comment_369644 Diseazd, was that skylight vault put in your garage so that you could get the car on the lift?Nice work! October 19, 201113 yr comment_369646 You betcha! That hole cost me more than the lift. The lift is absolutely awesome......anyone considering one should just do it! It's not a skylight though.....those are 3 florescent light fixtures up there. October 19, 201113 yr Author comment_369655 E30s are the best ever! I love mine and the attention it gets. Has to be one of the best looking BMW body styles out there. October 19, 201113 yr comment_369656 Wow five&dime that is one powerful Bimmer you have there! Both your cars are beautiful!Actually CW I think you were the one who reminded of my passion for E30's in my other thread haha! The 510 is like the super simplistic sister of the E30, which makes it great for turning into whatever you like, where-as the E30 is a great car by itself (not saying the 510 isn't and definitely not saying you can't beef up the E30). October 19, 201113 yr comment_369658 Just because I would much rather do car stuff than work, I looked at 510's for sale in CA on craigslist, where they listed a price in their ad and it looked like a whole and running car. Some interesting stuff. $25,000 Original BRE Package $10,500 SR20 swap $10,000 race $9,800 SR20 swap $7,500 SR20 swap $7,500 Limo! $7,500 VG30 swap $5,500 v8 swap $4,800 pretty stock $3,900 $3,800 $3,800 $3,500 $2,800 $2,600 $2,500 $2,400 $1,500 $1,000 $900 $900 $800 $600 With the exception of the BRE package, limo and engine swaps (where their asking is probably 1/2 of what they have into it), I'd say that $3K for a running car is about right and it may cost up to $5K for an absolute cream puff.
