Posted October 31, 201113 yr comment_370618 I was looking at the crank pulley today on a new engine i am putting together for my 72. It is a L24 out of another parts car. It has a two row pulley and I was looking at it and i cannot find any timing notces or marks. The motor in my car is a three row with the pointer and notches. I think I am going to need a different pulley in order to time it. This does not seem normal to me. ( all the pulleys I have seen have notches or that piece that is attached to the pulley. Anybody have thoughts or advice on this? Thanks in advance John:) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41209-crankshaft-pulley/ Share on other sites
October 31, 201113 yr comment_370619 Dip your finger in white paint and grind it into the balancer all the way around. You will find the marks. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41209-crankshaft-pulley/#findComment-370619 Share on other sites
October 31, 201113 yr comment_370647 yea, I swore that mine was missing too. It was there, just hard to find. One way would be to get #1 at TDC, cam lobes at 10:00 and 2:00 and then check for it right at the timing mark.
