Posted November 10, 201113 yr comment_371458 Hi all! I do not own a Z (YET!), but sure wish to have one. I am currently a college student with very limited funds, so the purchase of a car (even if a used/restoration project) is out of the picture right now. Hopefully 3 more years down the road I can finally get in one and call it my own. If you got a 240Z that you'd like to throw my way for a price range of a starving college student, then please do In any case, I look forward to learning more about the Z and any sort of advice and tips from veteran collectors! -lhmai7 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41310-new-to-the-world-of-z/ Share on other sites
November 10, 201113 yr comment_371471 We're not collectorz. We're caretakerz. Guardianz of the icon. Enthuziasts. Oh, well, you get the point.... Read, read and read some more. Ask questions if you don't understand something. When you finally get your Z, you'll be amply prepared to undertake whatever the Z will require to make it yours. November 11, 201113 yr comment_371523 IHMAI7If you are still several years down the road from ownership I ditto what D240 said....READ.READ.READ......Whatever you decide to buy make sure you get a complete car with all the parts attached or at least in the car. An incomplete car can be a PITA. Even if it is not running it can be brought back to life. Just make sure it is COMPLETE. Any amount of rust can be fixed but missing parts can make the revival just that much more discouraging. Find an acquaintance with a complete car so you will have an example to go by. I suggest one of the earlier years without all the electronics and then upgrade later. Good Luck Edited November 11, 201113 yr by esmit208 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41310-new-to-the-world-of-z/#findComment-371523 Share on other sites
