Posted November 16, 201113 yr comment_371936 I am looking for any race brake pad manufacturer that makes racing brake pads for the Toyota 4 pistion brake caliper that goes with the "Stock Solid 240z' Rotor. I believe this caliper is from a 1979-1983 4x4 truck. It is not used with a vented rotor.Any advice is greatly appreciated.Greg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41351-toyota-caliper-race-pads/ Share on other sites
November 16, 201113 yr comment_371941 Did you try Rock Auto. I haven't looked at pads for my Z yet, (same 4x4 calipers), but they even stocked had graphite-ceramic pads for my 97' ES300 when I did the brakes late last year. November 16, 201113 yr comment_371943 I read good reviews of these pads from "down under" 6 years ago and put a set on my Z. Had it on the track once and no fade but I was not pushing like you:PBR Metal Mastershttp://www.pbrperformance.com.au/performance.htm Edited November 16, 201113 yr by Blue Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41351-toyota-caliper-race-pads/#findComment-371943 Share on other sites

November 16, 201113 yr comment_371946 I've got the PBR Metal Masters on my car. They are quite old so I'm not sure if they've changed them since I bought mine but I like them. They do tend to want to squeak every so often though. Not bad for dust. Decently easy on rotors.Had the RS4 porterfield ones on my truck, really great pads. A fair amount of dust but not as bad as some I've had. Good initial bite and then as they heat up they grab even better. Could notice it on 70 mph stops at stoplights on the highway, I'd have to let off on the brake pressure as I could feel the friction increasing as it slowed.Trevorhttp://240z.me Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41351-toyota-caliper-race-pads/#findComment-371946 Share on other sites

November 17, 201113 yr comment_371966 +1 on the Porterfield R4. Not sure why the Toy 4x4 pads are so expensive though. I only pay $78 a set for R4-E (endurance) pads for my stock Z calipers. They are bigger, but 3x the cost? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41351-toyota-caliper-race-pads/#findComment-371966 Share on other sites
