Posted November 27, 201113 yr comment_372898 Hey dudes, I just picked up an s30, and I'm a bit confused on a few things. I was hoping that you guys might be able to tell me what these are because I'm assuming that some of this isn't stock. 1) This is on the passengerside fender towards the front... I'm assuming it's a fuel pressure regulator, but I've never seen a dial like this... 2) This is also on the pass fender... the wiring does not look stock. 3) Block off plate on the pass side towards front of motor... 4) Finally... I know alot of people use 280zx alternators... is there anyway to tell if this is one? Or if it's stock... Thanks guys! -Nels Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41478-new-z-what-are-these/ Share on other sites
November 27, 201113 yr comment_372899 I looks like the mechanical fuel pump has been removed (block-off) and an electric pump has been installed. The regulator is there to keep the fuel pressure...regulated. November 27, 201113 yr Author comment_372901 Sweet, I actually just looked up dial fpr's and found a similar one... and thanks for the info on the block off plate, I had no idea I was running an electric fuel pump! How about that strange thing in the second picture, or does that have something to do with the fpr? November 27, 201113 yr comment_372902 How about that strange thing in the second picture, or does that have something to do with the fpr? That's the voltage regulator. The original was cad plated, that is either the original after paint, or a replacement. The alternator is not a ZX unit, not if you still have an external regulator.
