garretthes Posted December 23, 2011 Author Share #13 Posted December 23, 2011 If the clips are still there and not damaged the chrome an be pressed back in to place. If the clips are damaged you will need a new strip. Its not easy to install. Silicone will not likely hold it in place
Brubaker Posted December 23, 2011 Share #14 Posted December 23, 2011 I am in the process of working on a 77. I put the rubber around the windshield and did not use any sealer. That took several times of pressing around the outside to make sure the window went in the channel. I am planning to now install the ss pieces. I have the plastic install tool to move the rubber lips around the ss. Hopefully this will not be a bear. The ss is very fragile and looks like it wouldn't take much to bend/crease it. Once I have all this in place is the rope around the windshield just to be able to pull the gasket over the inside? So you put the windshield in place and pull on the rope from the inside. I was going to put the whole thing in dry, am I asking for trouble? Thanks.
