Posted December 5, 201113 yr comment_373718 I'm trying to put the fram filter between the fuel tank and the pump, however the hose that goes to the pump it is not a 3/8 as everybody is saying it seems to be a 1/2 , attached is a picture of the fuel tank nipple, I do not know if the owner before me tried to "reinvent" the way the fuel flow goes ,due to the fact that he replace the OEM fuel pump and removed the damper ,any thoughts? December 5, 201113 yr comment_373732 Can you find a reducer fitting at a hardware store and put that on with a short piece of rubber tube first. 1/2 inch to 3/8.Or braze or solder two pieces of steel or copper tubing together and make a reducer. Not hard. December 5, 201113 yr comment_373734 If you get a filter with 1/2" barbs, everything would work correctly, right? The inlet on your fuel pump is probably 12 mm or 1/2" (depending on the pump). Have you compared the fuel pump inlet size to the fuel tank outlet?1/2" from the tank (actually 12 mm probably), 1/2" to and from the filter, 1/2" inlet on the fuel pump. The outlet from the tank is the big one and the return line from the engine bay is the small one (5/16" or 8 mm). December 5, 201113 yr Author comment_373760 Zed head, you are correct, the 1/2 from the fuel tank fits the1/2 of the fuel pump, and yes, the fuel tank outlet next to the one in mention its an small one, the problem is the filter , I wasn't sure if the 1/2 line was an improvisation of the past owner , or i was doing something wrong, do you think I could use an adapter to make the fram g3 fit ? Would that affect the fuel flow ? Thanks guys Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41561-fuel-tank-dilema-76-280z-fuel-tank-filename-76-280z-fuel-tank-dilema-280z-76/#findComment-373760 Share on other sites
