Posted December 10, 201113 yr comment_374111 This car needs to purchased by someone that can keep it in a climate controlled setting. Driving it would be a crime. Very nice car.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-280ZX-1-229-Original-Miles-Museum-Quality-/270868797454?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f1109d80e Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41604-a-car-for-a-museum-or-leno/ Share on other sites

December 10, 201113 yr comment_374116 It's nice to see what they looked like at the dealership, when they were new. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41604-a-car-for-a-museum-or-leno/#findComment-374116 Share on other sites
December 10, 201113 yr comment_374117 I don't think Leno is into Datsuns at all. Seems like the only old Japanese cars he has are Hondas and Mazdas. December 10, 201113 yr comment_374149 I don't think he will get the 80,000 15 to 20 grand is what it is worth.Sure is a nice car. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41604-a-car-for-a-museum-or-leno/#findComment-374149 Share on other sites
December 11, 201113 yr comment_374202 Its an absolutely gorgeous car, but its probably worth about 20 or 25 in that condition. Problem is, its going to be another 30 or 40 years before the condition of the car and rarity outweighs the amount invested. They just aren't that desirable yet. December 12, 201113 yr comment_374228 I would lay down the 21K he is asking if I had it. My very first Z was a 1982 2+2 and this car takes me back to those times. I believe he will get it. These cars are good for the highway and city. Tuned well with the 20 gallon gas tank you can get almost 500 miles on a full tank. Besides it would allow me to keep the miles off the nice 240. Wish me luck on the POWERBALL! December 12, 201113 yr comment_374229 Correction ........he really hasn't asked for a minimum price. He seems to be waiting for the highest bidder. Total investment means nothing to me. Lets hear a rock bottom price! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41604-a-car-for-a-museum-or-leno/#findComment-374229 Share on other sites
December 12, 201113 yr comment_374242 If he really has $80K invested in it, he won't take 21 or even the 25 that Ted mentions unless he's just desparate. Less thatn 1/3 of his 'investment'? IMO, he'll be keeping this car.....for a long time. December 12, 201113 yr comment_374252 Nice car but since when do you consider your storage fees & taxes as part of your investment. Sorry if I have $84K to burn I am buying a GTR. December 12, 201113 yr Author comment_374274 Given that it is a dealer I think they may just have a ridiculous reserve and are testing the waters to see if they can establish a value for the car. We'll see how high the bidding goes. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41604-a-car-for-a-museum-or-leno/#findComment-374274 Share on other sites
