ok my 71 has a metal cooling fan and I would like to replace it with a plastic one from a later year z. I know earlier Z and ZX ones are interchangable but am not sure If I can use the fan and clutch out of a 86 300zx. Has anyone done this or know the answer. As far as I can see it will bolt right up and fit fine in the space but I just want to make sure it does what it is suposed to do...

incase anyone needs to know in the future Rock Auto has them listed as the same part number. so i am going to give it a shot when i get her back together
