Posted December 18, 201113 yr comment_374753 For those of you who like hawaii and z cars.... Took my z to the beach today and watched the sun set into the blue pacific. Yes the a/c was on and yes it is the middle of december. Sat on the front bumper and enjoyed the moment. For those of you who know the big island the pictures were taken down by otec near the airport. The waves today were a little big and had to check that out too along with the sunset. If you're ever on the big island cruising the kohala coast and you see a black z thats me cuz i've got the only one on the island. December 18, 201113 yr comment_374763 Reminds of SoCal sunsets. Can't drive on the beach but every bit as spiritual. Use to love those late evening rides north on the PCH from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! December 18, 201113 yr comment_374789 Thanks for the pics, It was 29 degrees and snowing when I left the house this morning. No accumulation and thankfuly no reason for the state to dump crap all over the roads. The 240 does love the cold air though, once it gets up to temp. December 18, 201113 yr comment_374794 Yeah, I think my beastie will now stay in the barn until it rains a couple times in April. I'll get a flatbed to take it over to the shop when the engine comes out. December 20, 201113 yr Author comment_374965 i believe he moved to the mainland. i believe he was a welder by trade and to keep employed here you need to be jack of all trades. There is an older gentleman (60's) who works at the costco gas station that owns a orange 72. he said he's owned it since new and still uses points in the distributor. Every time i gas up he's looking over my car asking me what ive done to it. My wife is japanese and she has friends that come over from japan to visit. Her nephew works for toyotain osaka and he is a car guy. He's 24 years old and i think it was the first time he had seen a fairlady (280z) in the flesh. I let him take it for a drive and you could tell he couldn't drive a clutch. It was my attempt to get another generation interested in the cars over there. He owns a toyota celsior which is like a lexus. I made the mistake of asking him how fast it went whilewe were going to kansai airport. It wasn't until i got home and converted kph over to mph to find out that we were going 110 mph.Another gentleman in his 50's heard that i had 2 datsuns in the garage. He had once owned one in the 80's With my limited japanese i tried explaining what i had done to the 2 cars. Say hi to Kammy!
