anyone from maine know a good place to get undercoating done?

My car was "ziebarted" by the dealer when new. Zero rust 40 years later.

Ziebart is messy and traps water underneath here near the North Atlantic Ocean. The oily waxy stuff is the way to go. I checked the rustcheck site and it mentions Kmart in the USA. You may be able to buy the cans and spray yourself. ~$10/can here.

I'm the original owner of a 1974 1/2 260Z that I had Ziebart'd right after I bought it. Nothing came from the factory back then and this was one of the few choices available. It spent the better part of it's early life in Connecticut so was subjected to the ugly New England winters with snow, sleet, and salt.

Blue is correct that it is messy, and I am finding that our first hand as I try to remove it from the engine comnpartment and other areas that I want to clean, but 36 years later I barely have any rust to speak of.

I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had the choice.

I spend winters in Nova Scotia and NJ. The salt and winter salt-laiden-water on roads is ~ 3/10 (my estimate) in NJ compared to 10/10 here in Nova Scotia. Maine is in between I would guess.

Here is my Rav on a good winter day with just a light coating of salt. I live ~10km from the ocean... the poor b@stards who live in the water can hear their cars rust.

In Ontario we get our cars under oiled.

My wife's 6year old Honda pilot gets oiled every fall for $80 and the body is rust free.

They spread liquid brine and salt on the roads and it eats cars:angry:

Krown or Rustcheck will stop the existing rusty areas from getting worse.

The oil also creeps into seams and prevents the brine from breaking down wiring and rubber components.

I am afraid if you would seal existing rusty area's with Ziebart it would trap the rust underneath it.
