76' 280z Starts then stalls

Hey there...

Well just recently purchased two Z's a 73' 240 and a 76' 280 (which has been sitting since 97' from what I could tell.) I drained the gas, oil, and coolant then turned the motor over by hand and everything rotated just fine. I Installed a new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and fluids. Turned the car over but would not start so I checked the fuel and was getting no fuel due to the gas tank plugged up. I dropped the gas tank and will be cleaning that out but for now I started it up using a gas can. I primed the pump and the fuel filter and it fired right up then stalled with in a couple of seconds. tried it a couple more times and it does the same thing then eventually gets to much gas and will not start till I let it sit a few. I tried giving it a little gas when it would start and it made it stall even faster which i'm thinking is giving it to much fuel..... I was going to clean the injectors but the weather here got kinda crappy out so I had to stop working for the night. Any other advise on what to check for with this issue. I also checked the airflow sensor and held the flap open with no luck thinking maybe the fuel pump was shutting off after the car was running. I must say it was nice to hear her run for those few seconds :)

Make certain your EFI is sending pulses to the injectors. Otherwise you might just be running off of the cold start valve, as Joe suggests. Find a spare Xmas light bulb (the miniature sort), and plug it into an injector connector. Then watch the bulb while you crank the engine. It should flash once per engine rotation. If it does, and if your injectors are flowing (which they probably are), then you should have fuel to run. While you're at it, do the same test with the coolant temp sensor unplugged. The light should flash much brighter. If it doesn't, then your coolant temp sensor (or its connection/connector) might be bad (not likely).

Ok finally got working on the 280 again and it looks like I'm not getting any power to the injectors, the light bulb trick does not flash took 2 injectors out and watched for fuel spray and did not get anything. Kinda stumped cause it looks like the wires run into the ecu. Is there anything else I should be checking for, grounds... Split wires ect

Also when I inspected the ecu I noticed someone spliced into the ecu plug. There are 2 wires that are coming out of the end of the plug that do not connect to anything one is coming from pin 11 and the other pin 26. Their spliced correctly right to the pins yet on the other end both are female ends and I don't see any other wires under the dash that would connect to the any chance these would be causing the issue
