Wow! I drive a Datsun 240Z, ride a Kawasaki Z750S, and ride a Gary Fisher +4 Sugar. Some of you guys are wound way too tight. Its just a frackin' car, its just frackin' motorcycle, and its just a frackin' bike. Getting pissed off because someone dared to touch your vehicle with their hand shows a serious lack of emotional control.

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm saying! Relax, people.

It's not rage, he's a Texan. He's a fairly mild-mannered Texan, too, most of 'em would brandish a 1911 or 44mag and would never admit to carrying such a feminine weapon as a 9mm. Hell, that's grounds fer lynchin' in some of Texas' smaller towns

That's one of the most idiotic things I've heard. Nice attitude. Wave a gun at everyone, that makes it all better.

What's with all the pent up rage?

Approaching a major intersection on a bike can be terrifying. Staying with traffic flow is key. Jockeying up to the 1st car at light gives visibility. Yeah I might put a finger on the car for clipping in & balance. No harm done. I would hope they would respect the comrade at their side & acknowledge their presence giving rightaway to them at the turn. It's just a bike thing.

I don't think anyone's pissed-off, or planning to go out and run-down cyclists. The discussion is really about sharing the road safely without anyone getting hurt or property being damaged.

.

1) Personally, I dion't want to be placed in the position of hitting a careless cyclist, because I'd still feel some responsibility for his injuries, even if I'm not at fault.

2) I don't know about you, but I would be angry at someone who damages my property by being careless or unsafe, especially if they don't take responsibility. (HAVE had that happen).

.

On a side note, I'm prefer classic guns: i.e. Browning 1935 BHP. (BTW, I thought carrying w/o a CC permit was Federal, but maybe it's only a State law...)

I think I would be offended if a stranger walked up behind me and grasped my shoulder for balance while removing a shoe to shake out a pebble. I wouldn't consider my car much different -- even if it's my junky old Saturn with a beautiful patina of road grime. It's just bad manners.

However, if a stranger taps me on the shoulder to tell me my shoe lace is untied, that's entirely different. :)
