You guys are the Sherlock Holmes of Z LAND....mystery solved,I kinda like it and being a Nissan/Datsun part it will be attached to the rear spoiler on my Z.
Since SSS stands for 'Super Sports Sedan' that emblem will be out of place on your Z.
It could also mean SPECIAL SUPER SPORT.....

Thanks for the link.....My 72 Z is not a restore to factory specs and has been refresh with a l260 block,l240 head , 71 SU carbs , interior redone in fabric and vinyl ,the Orange paint is a little brighter than the factory, it has vintage Fairlady Z emblems on the fenders, bullet chrome style side mirrors,a MOMO steering wheel and shift knob, so I think that this unique emblem is a proper add on.
