Up until now I've not been a fan of fender flares on a z car, but this look really strikes me for some reason. Is this a custom molded flare, or is this the altered metal body? Call me crazy, but I love it.

They are bolted on, then bondo'd in smooth. There are several names for them, "ZG flares" being one. I don't know if any sheet metal has to be cut for installation.

Those do not appear to be the classic zg flares. Much too small and mounted quite low. My guess is custom molded in flares. It does look pretty nice, very subtle...

The subtlety is what I love about these flares. They almost look OEM. I was hoping some of our resident experts could tell me a bit more. Oh well, can't win 'em all :)

This pic is of a 260z I built for a customer a couple of years ago. The rear openings are flaired in metal. They required minimal welding and the opening edge is rolled . The tire size is 275-40 zr 17. You can check the

Picasa link at the bottom of my signature and go to Gregs Car for the build folder . I'm unsure if there are detailed in progress pics of the process.

I also like the subtle flares.

Larry- the work on that 260 is outstanding. I hope to see that one around some of the events/shows this year. I will be in need of a paint and body guy probably mid next year... and Chicago is just up the road from Indy. You just made the short list ;)
