Posted January 25, 201213 yr comment_378721 Hi there My stock series one 240z (01/1971) came with this air conditioning setup (see picture). Can anyone identify it? Because i would like to restore it to entirely stock. Unfortunately this right here is the best picture i have: thanks in advance! simzger Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/42062-can-anyone-identify-this-air-conditioning-setup/ Share on other sites
January 25, 201213 yr comment_378722 I have the same control knob in my 71, installed by the dealer. I don't know the manufacturer of the knob, but my setup has a York compressor under the hood. January 25, 201213 yr comment_378725 My current A/C kit from MSA has that type of controller and uses a rotary compressor. It replaces the original unit I installed on my '71 in back in 1972. That unit used a York compressor and had a different control switch box that attached to the side of the center console. The original unit was an ARA brand after market install.Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/42062-can-anyone-identify-this-air-conditioning-setup/#findComment-378725 Share on other sites
January 25, 201213 yr comment_378728 When I installed mine I eliminated the controller and went with a toggle switch. It made for a cleaner install and there is really no chance of the evaporator freezing up in these cars. At least not in Texas...
