Posted January 10, 200322 yr comment_22799 Where can I find these in Australia or where can I order them from o/seas for my '72 240Z?The guy that's doing my engine reco has found everything bar the rockers. With a higher duration cam, are the rockers different? ie should I first set my mind on a cam and then buy the appropriate rockers or what? :stupid: Another option he told me was to swap the head with that of a 260/280? Is this the better option considering I want more perfomance out of the car? I'm planning to use 27/70 cams or should I go with the slightly milder 25/65? I don't want to loose out on too much bottom end power. What other options do I have with heads and/or cams?Sorry about all the questions but I'm going to be spending a fair amount of money very soon and I want to get it right. ANY help is much appreciated.George Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/4207-need-rocker-arms-engine-rebuild-help/ Share on other sites
January 10, 200322 yr comment_22802 New rockers aren't cheap (~$70 each from memory). Your best bet is to get some 'good' (wear-pattern-wise) ones from a SII Bluebird, or 86-87 Patrol. These cars were the end of the line for the 'L' series & should be the best 'old' rockers you'll find.Expect to use various lash-pad sizes to get everything in spec. The best factory cam is the non-pollution 240Z one (ie the original one). You will find that the later cams have less duration. More importantly, fit the larger valves & radius the ports.
